Our Team

THE PEOPLE WHO
WILL MAKE YOU
A PILOT.

Every instructor at Frequency Change Aviation was chosen for the same reason: they make their students better. Not just technically proficient — genuinely better pilots, with the judgment and confidence to fly safely for a lifetime.

"The best pilots I've ever met are the ones who never stopped being students."

Jeff Ramsey

President & Founder

Jeff didn't start Frequency Change Aviation to run a flight school. He started it because he believed Nashville deserved one that actually worked — structured, honest, and built around the student rather than the schedule. A Gold Seal CFI with an ATP certificate, Jeff brings airline-level discipline to every training program he designs. He's a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP), one of a small group factory-qualified to teach in the SR22. He's also the reason FCA is both Part 141 and Part 61 certified — because he understood that different students need different paths, and he built both. Jeff spent 15 years in corporate America as a CPA and in outside sales before returning to his true calling. When he isn't flying, he's thinking about how to make the next student's experience better than the last one's.

Bob Parker

Chief Flight Instructor

Bob obtained his Private Pilot certificate in 1988 after finishing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. Over the next 8 years he added Instrument, Commercial, and Multi-Engine ratings, plus a Flight Instructor certificate in 1996. While pursuing a full-time career in Information Technology, earning an MBA in Technology Management, and raising his family, he instructed part-time and added CFII and Instrument Ground Instructor ratings. As his children entered college, Bob began flying full-time — first for a corporate flight department, then in privately owned aircraft. Bob is the instructor you want when you've developed bad habits somewhere else, or when you want to make sure you never develop them in the first place. His instrument instruction is particularly sought after.

"Precision isn't perfectionism. It's respect for the airplane and everyone in it."

"Every student who walks in here deserves to feel like they belong in the sky."

Anna Sorenson

General Manager

Anna began her aviation journey in the middle of COVID in 2020, shortly after moving from Arizona to Washington State. She took a Discovery Flight, fell in love with aviation, and earned her Private Pilot certificate just three months later. She then completed her education online at Green River College in Auburn, Washington, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Science in 2023. Anna is the reason FCA runs as smoothly as it does. She manages everything from VA benefit coordination to scheduling to the hundred small things that have to go right for a flight school to function. More than a few students have said she's the reason they chose FCA over every other school they visited.

Clayton Anderson

Assistant Chief Flight Instructor

Clayton's aviation journey began in 2019 at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. When COVID-19 hit in 2020, he returned to his hometown of Nashville and completed every pilot certificate and rating at John C. Tune Airport — while simultaneously earning his bachelor's degree in aerospace management from Middle Tennessee State University. Since joining FCA in summer 2022, Clayton has become one of the most sought-after instructors on the team. He has a gift that's genuinely rare: he can tell exactly where a student is struggling before the student can articulate it themselves. His students consistently solo faster and pass checkrides on the first attempt at a rate that would make most schools envious.

"I want every student to leave the airplane smarter than when they got in."

"Good judgment in the air starts with good habits on the ground."

Christopher Tucker

Flight Instructor

Christopher Tucker has been a dedicated Air National Guard medic for nearly a decade, providing essential care and support in high-stakes environments. That background translates directly to the cockpit — Christopher brings the same calm, methodical precision to flight instruction that he developed in the Guard. In 2022, he embarked on a new career path in aviation, earning his CFI and Multi-Engine Instructor certificates. When not in the cockpit, he cherishes quality time with his wife and two children. In his free moments, he's an avid reader, particularly drawn to science fiction and fantasy. His students consistently describe him as one of the most patient and thorough instructors they've ever had.

Nate Arend

Flight Instructor

Nate is a recent MTSU graduate who earned his Private Pilot License with Frequency Change Aviation before enrolling in the MTSU Professional Pilot Program. While in college, he attained his Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot License, Multi-Engine Rating, and most recently became a Certified Flight Instructor. He looks forward to meeting and working with his students here at FCA. Nate has a rare ability to meet students exactly where they are and explain things in a way that actually clicks. When he is not in the air, Nate can often be found outdoors — hiking, camping, or finding the next adventure.

"If you understand why you're doing something, you'll never forget how to do it."

"It's never too late to become the pilot you always wanted to be."

Christian Leibold

Certified Flight Instructor

Christian's aviation journey began in 2011 in his home state of South Carolina. He made it through to solo flight a couple of times, but flying ultimately took a back seat to a non-aviation career path. Fast forward to the 2020s — having relocated to Nashville, his wife got him a discovery flight at Frequency Change Aviation and pushed him to finish his goal of becoming a Private Pilot, which he completed in 2022. Flying was just a hobby until early 2023, when he decided to pursue aviation as a profession and added his various certificates. Christian's story resonates with a lot of FCA students — he knows exactly what it feels like to come back to flying after life gets in the way.

Jaden Johnson

Flight Instructor

Jaden was born and raised in Nashville, TN. After graduating from MTSU in 2021, he immediately started his aviation journey. Jaden earned his Private Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating with Frequency Change Aviation in 2022 — and just two short years later, he became a Certified Flight Instructor at the same school where he learned to fly. That full-circle story isn't lost on his students. Jaden knows the FCA curriculum from the inside out, and he has a natural ability to connect with newer students who are exactly where he was not long ago. When he is not flying, Jaden enjoys spending his time at the gym or being on the water.

"I learned to fly here. Now I get to help others do the same thing. That never gets old."

"Aviation gave me a second language. Now I get to teach it."

Joseph Bing

Flight Instructor

A first-generation pilot from Jacksonville, FL, Joseph Bing found his love for aviation during his senior year at FSU. Joe moved to Nashville in January 2025 with his wife Caitlyn after she began Medical School at Belmont University. He recently completed his CFII with Frequency Change Aviation and has been exploring Nashville from the air ever since. Joseph brings the energy and enthusiasm of someone who is still in the early chapters of his aviation story — and that enthusiasm is contagious in the cockpit. He cherishes his family, friends, faith, and flying. When he's not in the air, you can find Joe on the golf course, watching football, or teaching his wife to appreciate both.

Alycia Abbadini

Flight Instructor

Alycia began her aviation journey in December of 2022. She graduated high school and started college during the pandemic in 2020, and quickly realized college wasn't for her. She has known ever since she was young that she wanted to travel all around the world. Alycia looked into being a Flight Attendant but her dad encouraged her to be on the other side of the cockpit doors. With her dad being a pilot as well, it made the transition into the aviation world less scary. In her free time, she loves to read books and hang out with her family.

"Flying is the greatest adventure."

"Your dreams are not too big to go after."

CFI

Vinnia Barrett

Flight Instructor

Vinnia recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Aviation Management and Business Administration, and she currently works as a Passenger Service Supervisor at Nashville International Airport, where she gets to be part of the fast-paced world of airline operations every day. Her journey into aviation started in 2022, when a family friend took her up on a discovery flight and she got hooked immediately. She started flight training in 2023 and, even though she took a few breaks along the way, she never lost that excitement for flying. That drive eventually led her to earn her CFI. When she is not flying, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, and doing anything that gives her a little adrenaline rush. As an instructor, she wants to create a fun, supportive environment for her students and be someone they can look up to. More than anything, she hopes to inspire people — especially those who think their dreams might be too big to go after them anyway.
