FCA operates a diverse fleet of 11 aircraft at John C. Tune Airport — from economical primary trainers to a high-performance Cirrus SR22T. All rates are hourly. Wet rates include fuel. Dry rates do not.
The Redbird Basic Aviation Training Device (BATD) is an FAA-approved flight simulator used for instrument training and procedure practice. BATD time counts toward your Instrument Rating and Commercial certificate under both Part 61 and Part 141. It is the most cost-effective way to build instrument proficiency — at less than half the cost of the aircraft.
Up to 10 hours of BATD time may be logged toward your Instrument Rating (Part 61). Part 141 students may credit up to 40% of required simulator hours.
Instrument training. Procedure practice. Currency. Checkride prep.
Wet rates include fuel. All aircraft except the Piper Aztec are billed at a wet rate — you pay one hourly rate and fuel is covered. The Aztec is billed dry, meaning fuel is purchased separately.
All aircraft are billed by Hobbs meter time — the time the engine is running. Ground time with the engine running counts toward your rental.
FCA recommends all renters carry non-owned aircraft renter's insurance. Coverage is available through AOPA and other aviation insurance providers at low annual cost.
New renters must complete a checkout flight with an FCA instructor before renting solo. Requirements vary by aircraft type. Contact us to discuss your experience and schedule a checkout.
One hour in the air with a certified flight instructor. You fly the airplane. No commitment required.
